How does Emergency Ride Home work?

Emergency Ride Home (ERH) is a benefit to help Vanpool commuters get home in case of an emergency. If you commuted to work via the vanpool and you must return home early due to an emergency, Mountain Metro Rides will reimburse you (the commuter) for the trip home up to two (2) times per calendar year.

Emergency Ride Home is only available in the case of a personal or family member illness, unexpected overtime or when your vanpool is unavailable to get you home.

To use Emergency Ride Home...
  1. Emergency Ride Home is only available to people commuting via vanpool.
  2. You may use up to 2 trips per calendar year.
  3. When you request a trip, you get a printer-friendly on-line voucher. Simply print the voucher and follow the instructions on the form. Metro Rides will only reimburse the commuter for the trip. Metro Rides will not pay the taxi, bus, rental car or Uber directly.
  4. As you use each trip, it is tracked by the Metro Rides database. Metro Rides always keeps your information private and does not share information with third parties.
  5. At any time you may view your Emergency Ride Home program status, including the number of trips taken and number available to use.
